(Q) Where and with whom and since when have you trained the Tai Chi Chuan (TCC).

A) I started with Prof Chee Soo on 5th January 1973 as a part of the Teacher Training programme of the international Wu Shu Association, of which He was the President and Founder. The Prof was at that time teaching in the London University. Those of us on the Teachers Programme trained up to 20 hrs a week with him on an intensive programme which included, Chi kung + Chinese Yoga, Chang Ming Macrobiotic Healing Diet, Fengsau ( Soft Style of Chinese Boxing), and a form of Tai Chi called the Lee Style.

Q) Where and with whom have you trained the Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan.

A) My first experience of Yang style TCC was in Greenwich London in 1974 with Ken Homan. Ken had resided in Shanghai for 18yrs working as a correspondent and later as a freelance collector and dealer of Chinese artefacts. During his stay he had trained extensively in some the Wu Shu arts including Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung Liang Gong and various weapon forms. From Ken I learnt the traditional 108 Yang form and the Peking form.
In 1976 I started training with King Hung Chu at his home in Wembley this would continue until 1988. I recall that his assistant at the time Simon Seow was helping him to setup the ITCCA. From 1983 to 1988 was one of Chu King Hung’s 3 representatives in Germany helping to broaden his organisation with new groups and teachers. In 1988 feeling that I had come as far it was possible I stepped out.
At the end of the 80`s and the beginning of the 90`s I attended the Europeans seminars of Chu Gin Soon and trained with him the 2man fighting form +the tai chi lance.
Since the summer of 2003 I have been visiting and training in London with James (Jim) Uglow who is the senior foreign student of Ma Lee Yeung (Daughter of Yeung Shou Chung and 6th generation within the Yeung family lineage. Jim and I go back to the early 70s when we met while both studying with late Prof Chee Soo in his London school. Training with Jim has been a quantum leap in terms of my personal progress. As result of my continuing training with Jim Uglow the Tai Chi Studio Köln offers the Yeung Family Training Programme of Mary Yeung as passed on to her
and instructed by her father Yeung Shou Cheung.
